Sunrise at Angkor Wat

A not so morning-person type of gal, got up early to witness a talked about Sunrise of the famous temple, the Angkor Wat. It was still dark when we left the hotel, and upon reaching the main entrance of the temple, we had to use the flashlight from our celphones to find and join a crowd with the same intention as ours.  As we found a spot, we patiently waited. We saw how the horizon lighthened up. DSC03337After a quick coffee break, we saw an “orange ball” peeping at the corner of the temple.  We ran back into our spot to have a good view.  “There it is!” and so we shouted.  Slowly, the horizon changed it’s color and the orange ball revealed itself.

IMG_4949The rumor has it!  Such a beautiful sunrise.  As the sun appeared between the towers,  everyone smiled, everyone with a camera at hand not wanting to miss the chance to capture such a beautiful moment. The early call time, the long wait all worth it.

The horizon revealed and welcomed everyone to what they call “Heaven on Earth”.
